Terms of use

Last updated October 5, 2026.

These terms apply to your use of galas.ca, provided by the operator of galas.ca (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What galas.ca is

galas.ca is a free, independent directory of public galas and similar events in Canada. galas.ca is an independent listing service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or acting for any organizer, charity, venue or ticketing service listed. Including an event is not an endorsement or recommendation of the event, its organizer or any cause it supports.

2. Event information

Listings are compiled from information organizers have made publicly available, or that event representatives submit to us. Event details change, and listings may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Information is provided “as is” for general information only. Always confirm the date, time, venue, price, dress code, accessibility and any other detail with the organizer before you make plans or buy tickets. Prices are shown as published by the organizer or its ticketing service and may exclude fees and taxes.

3. Tickets, donations and third-party sites

We don't sell, resell or process tickets, registrations or donations. Links take you to websites run by organizers and ticketing services that we don't control. Any purchase, donation or registration is between you and that third party, under its terms and privacy policy, and we aren't responsible for it, including refunds, cancellations, changes or the conduct of the event. Charitable tax receipts, if any, are issued by the organizer, not by galas.ca.

4. Names, trademarks and content

Event names, organization names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. We use them only to identify events accurately; that use doesn't imply any affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. We don't reproduce organizers' descriptions, photographs or artwork. The design, the text we write and the compilation of galas.ca are ours, and you may not copy them in bulk or use them to build a competing database. Automated access to galas.ca must follow our robots.txt.

5. Corrections, removals and notices

If you represent an event or rights holder and believe a listing is inaccurate or shouldn't appear, contact us through our correction form. We review requests promptly and will correct or remove a listing where appropriate.

6. Submitting a listing

If you submit an event, you confirm that you're authorized to share its details, that they're accurate and that the event is open to the public. You allow us to publish, edit, summarize, categorize and display those details on galas.ca and in its calendar feeds. We may decline or remove any listing. Listing is free, and submitting doesn't create any partnership, agency or business relationship with us.

7. Emails

We only send commercial electronic messages with your consent or as otherwise permitted by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Every such message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe mechanism, and we act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

8. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no submitting false or misleading information, impersonating an organizer, interfering with the site's operation, or attempting to access systems or data you aren't permitted to.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, galas.ca is provided without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, reliance on any listing, or any event, purchase or third-party website you reach through it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be limited by agreement.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows when they last changed, and continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This doesn't deprive you of any rights that the mandatory laws of your province or territory of residence give you, including Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.

12. Event services and professionals

If you submit a planning request or apply as an event professional, galas.ca acts only as a connection service. We may share request details with professionals, or business details with people planning events, as you have agreed. We are not an event planner, agent, employer or insurer, we don't guarantee or vouch for any professional or any request, and any agreement is between you and the other party, who is responsible for it. If we ever receive a fee or other payment for an introduction, we will say so. Please don't include sensitive personal information in a request.
